“Defenders” at New St. Isaac’s

On previous Defender of the Fatherland days the men of our office centre have defended their office spaces in a paper aeroplane battle and defended their health against viruses and colds. This year we decided to pay tribute to the strength and courage of our men through modern art. And so the idea of the “Defenders” exhibition was born; the exhibition takes place at New St. Isaac’s from 22-28 February, 2014.

The Faculty of Arts at St. Petersburg State University (SPbGU), headed up by Valeriy Gergiev, lent us 16 pieces of art, created by 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-year students from the Department of Graphic Design and Applied Arts. The artistic director is the teacher of sculpture at SPbGU and member of the Union of Artists, Yu.V.Yevgrafov. The works of art were exhibited on staircases 1 and 4, as well as in some of the offices. The stars of the exhibition were knights, warriors, generals, and soldiers. In the courtyard we came face-to-face with Don Quixote, on the staircase Alexander Nevskiy was waiting for us, and in the Tbricks office Peter I himself was waiting on horseback.
