New St. Isaac’s and the Night of Museums

On the night of the 17 May, 2014 you will be able to view a model of the house of the Sarepta Society in the Lutheran Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul (22, Nevskiy Prospect). The work of art will be housed in the church catacombs and presented as part of the Night of Museums. Following the event it will head to the Old Sarepta Memorial Museum in Volgograd.

New St. Isaac’s and the Night of Museums
Itself a part of the German history of Russia, New St. Isaac’s has supported the Russian-German Meeting Center and the Lutheran Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul by sponsoring a unique digital exhibit at the Night of Museums, 2014. “Light and color” is the theme of this year’s large-scale activities and it is for this reason that the organizers of the program in the Lutheran Church decided to turn to modern technology to bring a small idea to life. Indeed they have managed to combine the historical interiors of the church with computer-based projection. In the Church’s main hall, a large computer system will project the exhibit “The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul: Shapes”, which showcases the lost interiors of the building and its complex history. Visitors will also be able to enjoy an audio exhibit entitled “On the bottom” on the floor of a former swimming pool, located in the church catacombs.
